Robert started his cycling career on the dirt where he raced for Sobe/Headshock as a professional mountain biker. He switched to the road in college when he found success at Collegiate Road Nationals in Colorado Springs where he placed 3rd in the road race and 2nd in the omnium. He found more success in the collegiate cycling scene when he took silver at the 2001 Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals. Robert would later be named a Collegiate All American in both the road and mountain bike disciplines.
Robert raced on the road for Sakonnet Technology’s cycling team starting in 2003. With Sakonnet he raced most of the NRC calendar as well as many UCI events. Although Robert took a short hiatus from cycling from 2005-6 he returned in 08 and is better than ever. This will be Rob’s third season with Locos, and his goal for the coming season is to podium in an NRC race. Robert’s riding style is best suited for hilly road races, stage races, and bunch sprints. Robert spends his days at UGA where is working on a PhD in Finance. Check out his site for information on his research.
